5. Settlement of bets
Bets are automatically settled on a F.P.P. basis unless otherwise stated in the office or by R.O.R.if requested by the client.  The advertised times of races, the runners the returns and the results as published in the national/sporting press will govern the settlement of all bets, errors and omissions accepted. Through the card type instructions will be determined by reference to the Published race programme, as will instructions "first race" "last race" etc.  In the event of no starting prices being returned, all selections for which a price has not been laid, will be declared void and treated as non runners for the purpose of the settlement.
Unless otherwise advertised by us, bets are accepted only at Starting Price,, Board Price Morning Price or Ante Post price: if taken at Tote Returns in error, win and place single or accumulative bets will be settled at starting price and Forecast bets will be settled in accordance with our rule 14.  Each way doubles, trebles and accumulators are settled win to win  and place to place; When three or more selections are made for a race in a wager involving straight forecasts, settlement will be made as a full combination of those selections, unless each required forecasts is written individually.  In accumulative wagers where bet contingencies for a horse or greyhound that runs in a race or at a meeting not precluded by our rules will be executed for that race unless the selection is specifically timed by the Client of by our Rule 13 for another race for prices, we reserve the right to withhold payment of returns pending the outcome of any subsequent inquiry.

6. Time of Acceptance
In the case of races covered by S.I.S. for which and "Off" signal is given, we officially cease to take bets after we have processed and photographed the "Off Slip".  For other races or events, bets are only accepted up to the advertised time of starting,  Should a client, subsequent to the result of a race having been determined or after we have officially ceased to take bets on a race include in his instructions a selection for that race, it will be treated as a non runner win or lose.

7. Incorrect Stakes or Instructions
Where it is quite clear from written instructions on the bet what the client intended to back, nothing in this rule shall over rule this.
INCORRECT NUMBER OF BETS OR SELECTIONS: Where the number of singles, doubles, trebles and accumulators are specified unless it is obvious which part of the bet is under staked or over staked, the total amount staked will be equally divided over the full bet.  Where an incorrect number of selections is given in a "Yankee" or similar full cover named bet, whether the instructions are specified by name or written out in full at equal stakes the total stake will be divided and invested equally on the full number doubles, trebles fore folds etc., as determined by by the number of selections given. Where a permutation is used which could apply equally to Computer Straight Forecasts and Computer Tricasts, in the absence of specific instruction the bet will be settled as for Computer Straight Forecasts.

INCORRECT STAKES: Unless covered by the preceding section where the amount of stake money received is more or less than the required to execute a wager in full the whole stake will be executed in proportion.

AMBIGUOUS INSTRUCTIONS: Should the name of a selection be incorrectly written or should and unnamed selection be untimed or incorrectly timed or should a client's instruction be loosely worded, the bet will be executed provided we are satisfied by reference to our security time stamp or off slip procedure, otherwise as the the client's intentions, if not any selections so involved will be treated as non runners as will any selections for races precluded by our rules.  However, where instructions are given for unnamed selections at morning of afternoon B.A.G.S. Meetings and where the scheduled race time and meeting stated do not correspond then the race time will take precedence for the purpose of settlement.
Where a time and meeting is clearly stated but no selection is indicated by name or trap number, the favorite in that race will be taken as the client's selection.  Where selections are given by instructions and stakes are completely omitted the stake available will be divided and invested equally as single bets on each of the selections given.  In all cased bets will be settled as win bets, unless each way is specified. Should the name of a selection be incorrectly written so as to be interpreted as to separate selections i.e. Red Rum or Desert Orchid and the client writes Red Orchid, stakes will be equally divided on both selections involved.

CONTINGENCY BETS: Bets may not be combined where the result of one influences the outcome of another.  Any double or similar type bet accepted without an appropriately reduced price being agreed, in the above circumstances will be settled as single bets on each selection with the stake being equally divided.
If the same selection is repeated in a double, treble or accumulator, than a non runner will be substituted for the repeated selection/  When a horse and greyhound with identical names are engaged to run on one and the same day, untimed bets for that selection will be settled for the horse race unless it is otherwise indicated that the greyhound required.  Where a selection is given both by name and trap number the name will take precedence for the purpose of settlement,  Untimed or wrongly timed bets on unnamed favorites where the meeting is specified, will automatically settled for the next race after acceptance of the bet at that meeting/

8. Board & Morning Prices
At all norse or greyhound meetings where we are receiving a course betting service we will lay the current
quoted price of the selection at the time the bet is accepted.  Neither a bar price nor the instruction first show will be accepted; if taken in error the selection will  be settled at starting price.  Clients wishing to bet at board or morning prices must stipulate this when handling in the bet and ensure that the quoted price is marked on the betting slip by our staff, or countersigned by them, otherwise the bet will be settled at starting price.
Where a board or morning price is  this will apply to the selection throughout the slip.  Should there be an (Official) correction of a price which had earlier been wrongly transmitted all wagers struck on that price will be settled at the corrected price or starting price whichever is greater, a similar correction will be made where due to a mistake by a member of our staff a price had been incorrectly quoted, whether to the clients advantage or not.  This rule will similarly apply where morning prices advertised or displayed on the day of an event are marked incorrectly on the betting slip by a member of our staff . Settlement of the place part of each way bets where a price has been laid (excepting ante post) is determined by our rule 11.  A horse race bet laid in accordance with advertised or circulated prices on the day of the race is not an ante post bet and in the event of any withdrawals such horses will count as non runners and bets for other horses will be subject to a deduction equivalent to that of Tattersalls Rule 4.  The rate depending upon the advertised or quoted prices of the withdrawn horses.  N.B. Morning Prices are available up to the transmitted 1st show.

9. Favorites
A. In any race the favorite is the horse quoted in the official starting price return at the shortest odds.  The second favorite is the horse quoted at the next shortest odds and so on.  I f two horses should be quoted at the same odds and if these odds should be shorter than  those quoted against any other horse than these two horses are the joint first and second favorites.
B. Subject to section (C) of this rule, where a client uses the word favorite or second favorite to indicate the selection the stake will be invested equally amongst each of the selected horses.  However, if such joint favorites are returned at a price where irrespective of result no profit accrue to a backer of the favorite, the unnamed favorite will be treated as a non runner.  This section and section (A) with the exception of 2nd favorite will apply equally to greyhound racing.
C. Commissions for unnamed favorites or additionally in the case of horse racing of unnamed second favorites will be accepted win only. The place part of any such commission if taken will be declared void.
D. Commissions for second favorites at Greyhound Meetings are not accepted and even if inadvertently taken will be declared void.  Should a favorite commission be timed for one of the races on days programme but no meeting or an unscheduled meeting be specified, it will be executed as for the Principle Meeting where the time coincides.

10. Ante Post Betting
All ante post bets are accepted and settled on a rules of racing basis only.  Ante post bets are accepted on the principle of all in enter or not, run or not.  Should a selection become a non runner after the time of acceptance the bet will be a losing one.  All  Ante Post prices  are subject to fluctuation and Ante Post bets will be settled at the price ruling at the time of acceptance which must be confirmed by the Manager, and must be recorded on the betting slip by our staff.  The right is reserved to correct any palpable error.  Doubles, trebles and accumulators will be calculated at a accumulative odds, except when the same selection is taken to win two or more events, when reduced odds may apply.  When there has been Ante Post betting on a event which does not eventually take place will be treated as non runners and the remaining selections settled at the ante post prices laid.  If a horse is balloted out under Jocky Club Rule 125 single bets will stand, the balloted out selections being treated as a non runner and the remaining selections settled at the Ante post prices laid.  In the event of a race being post poned bets will be divided in accordance with Tattersalls ruling.  Each way Ante Post bets are settled win to win and place to place.  We do not accept place only ,any to come, or if cash bets at ante post odds. In the event of a postponement of a race or even if the declarations are re-opened- all bets placed before the postponement will stand for 1 week from the original date, then will be declared void.

13. Doubly Engaged
Where a client specifies the time of a race the selection will be taken for that race only.  An untimed single bet for a selection which is doubly engaged will be timed for the first race for which it runs excepting that where and "if absent" selection is given this will be taken as timing the bet for the race in which both selections are engaged: if however, an untimed bet for a horse enged in a flat race and a hurele or steeplechase is taken it will be timed for the flat race.  If two selections one of which is doubly engaged are included in a double treble or accumulator but rn in the same race, the selection which is doubly engaged will be automatically tmed for the race in which the entries do not clash.  If both are doubly engaged the selection written first in the clients instuctions will be timed for the race in which it runs, the second selection being automatically timed for the race in which the entries do not clash.  Should this paragraph apply to any part of a combination vet it will continue to apply to the whole of that combination except that a single commissions will be treated as entirely seperate bets.
